In the past, human beings hunted to survive. Over the years, thanks to agriculture and industrialization, hunting has become a hobby. Today, only a rare few hunt in order to feed themselves, and that's why some animal rights groups consider hunting no longer makes sense. Hunters, on the other hand, allege that they respect nature and contribute to maintaining a balance between species and ecosystems. According to the Québec Ministry of Wildlife and Natural Resources, because hunters are obliged by law to register the big game they take, they not only help monitor species, which in turn determines what protection plans should be set up; hunters also contribute to modifying existing regulations.
