The Wildlife Zoo in St. Félicien which is now also called the Centre for the Preservation of Boreal Biodiversity, used to include North-American wildlife but we've now extended our territory to the more northerly regions. Our mission is also to provide an area for the biodiversity that we now have here. We've become a storage place for this boreal gene pool. Let's

suppose that everything around us disappeared; we'd have specimens that could survive here in these northern lands. Basically, our mission is conservation and education. We want people to see animals in the most natural possible habitats; for humans to experience contact with animals that's as natural as can be; people can appreciate animals in a

free-range environment far better than when the animals are in cages.
