Everything is interconnected within each ecosystem, and the various ecosystems are also connected together, a bit like a spider's web. They are pieces that are all connected, even though each piece is different; each piece has its own ecodiversity. For 30 years I've been fighting for the environment, with other people who are passionate
about the environment, activists who are trying to save bits and pieces of this wonderful world of ours that helps us survive. Because without nature humankind can't survive. Everything comes from nature, humans don't produce oxygen. I can understand people who think they can live without nature, because they've always lived in a city like Montréal or New York;
they think they can survive without nature. But even if they don't know it or don't realize it, it's nature, it's the trees and the plants that produce the oxygen we breathe. When people tell me it doesn't concern them, I say to them: stop breathing and see how it feels.
